So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Defining @RequestMapping handler methods
In the Spring MVC Framework, the @RequestMapping handler methods are very flexible in defining signatures. You can pass any number of arguments in any order. These methods support most type of arguments, and are also very flexible in the return type as well. It can have several return types, some of which are listed next:
- Supported method argument types
- Request or response objects (Servlet API)
- Session object (Servlet API)
- java.util.Locale
- java.util.TimeZone
- java.io.InputStream / java.io.Reader
- java.io.OutputStream / java.io.Writer
