Strategies in Biomedical Data Science has set out to survey some very rapidly changing fields, namely data-intensive research analytics, research data management, genomics-genetics, and high-performance computing. There is every reason to believe that these fields will continue to change rapidly. So this book’s specific technical recommendations probably will not have a very long shelf life. For this I apologize, but the alternative approach, given the rapid pace of change, was simply to leave out these specifics entirely. The broader concepts and strategies presented in this book should have longer-lasting utility. And it is my sincere hope that these concepts and strategies offer more durable tools for meeting ever-changing ...
