About the Contributors

Karen S. Anderson, MD, PhD, is a cancer immunologist and translational researcher at Arizona State University, with a joint appointment at Mayo Clinic. Her laboratory’s research focus is on identifying targets of immune control of cancer.

Joe Arnold is the cofounder and president of SwiftStack. SwiftStack is a leading provider of object storage software. SwiftStack’s customers include some of the largest enterprise companies and life sciences institutions. An innovator in cloud-computing infrastructure, Mr. Arnold also built one of the first widely used Platforms as a Service (PaaS) on top of Amazon Web Services. He is the author of Object Storage with Swift (2014), published by O’Reilly Media.

M. Haithem Babiker, PhD, is chief technology officer of EndoVantage and a coinventor of the EVIS technology. He received a BSE in bioengineering and an MS and PhD in biomedical engineering at Arizona State University.

Jacob Brill is a management intern working in the Complex Adaptive Systems department at Arizona State University. He is a graduate of ASU with a degree in biological sciences. He has prior experience in the fields of prosthetics, information technology, and other biological research endeavors.
