Gallup CliftonStrengths

As briefly mentioned in Chapter 1, one of the best known and probably the most used strengths identification assessments is the Gallup Strengths Finder, also called the Clifton Strengths Finder (CSF) or CliftonStrengths (Harms 2017).1 It was developed by the American research organization Gallup, who are probably more famous for their polls (Freeburg 2014) but in the 1990s, under the leadership of educational psychologist Donald Clifton, the CSF was born out of over 2 million interviews conducted to identify talented staff (Schreiner 2006).
