Warehousing and distribution are important supply chain activities that make up more than 7% of the US gross national product (Kearney, 2021). Warehousing is concerned with the efficient storage and handling of physical goods inventories before they are distributed to a downstream supply chain entity such as a retailer or fulfillment center.
