Set Up a New Virtual Machine in VirtualBox

Each operating system you install requires its own virtual machine. (You can, if you like, install several different operating systems or several instances of the same operating system.)

To create a new virtual machine for Windows:

  1. Launch VirtualBox (in /Applications).

    The screen initially looks something like Figure 9-1

  2. Click New to open the New Virtual Machine Wizard; then click Next.

  3. On the next screen (Figure 9-2), enter a name for your new virtual machine (such as Windows XP) and choose the operating system ...
