I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
2Preparing for Test Automation
And off we go! You purchase and install a tool, then write a few tests and, before you know it, your test automation solution is up and running. Right?
In practice, things are rarely that simple. Even if it is tempting jump right in, it is worth taking a closer look and preparing well—after all, the devil is in the detail. If you realize too late that your SUT may not offer the necessary interfaces, that your test tool is incompatible, or that it is oversized for the job at hand, you may already have invested a lot of energy, money and resources in the project and will have to start all over again. Agility or no, despite the joy of experimentation, it is worth taking time and trouble at the preparation stage ...
