Iteration and Story Planning
Chapter 13, “Story Preparation,” examined how to make stories ready for short-term planning needs. This chapter focuses on that planning. Teams that practice flow-based planning (e.g., Kanban) plan each story as it comes up for development; teams that practice timeboxed planning (e.g., Scrum) schedule all of the stories for an upcoming iteration (approximately one to two weeks) together in an iteration planning meeting. This chapter covers both approaches. Figure 14.1 highlights the activities covered in the chapter.
