Part 1 of this book is where you'll start to learn the basics of CentOS. No previous Linux knowledge is assumed, because we'll take things nice and slow. You will learn about CentOS and why it's a fantastic operating system that you can trust with your most important workloads. We'll cover a step-by-step install in Chapter 2 and talk about some of the more advanced options that you can use. Chapter 3 provides a quick overview of how to log in to your new system and move around. It's not a full guide to working with CentOS, but it will get you up and running quickly. Chapter 4 covers updating CentOS and hence is critical to the health of your server.
