Who Is This Chapter For?

This chapter is suited for anyone who has struggled at any point in the last year or two with trying to get their head around what they can do to prepare themselves, their teams, or their companies for what the future might look like as the fast-paced evolution of GenAI appears to change the ground under our feet. It’s particularly directed toward fraud analytics and research teams. It’s also relevant for any department or professional who works with fraud teams or is impacted by their work.

Introduction

We wrote this book with a lot of humility. We read the latest reports as they came out, we read what experts were saying, we experimented with different models, we interviewed people. We really did the homework. Yet every week, the ground under our feet shifted. GenAI moves fast.

So we did our best to pull out the overarching themes, and the ideas that had many applications and could be adapted as things changed. Where we went into detail on examples, we tried to choose ones that would still be relevant as a base even if the specifics changed.

We did our best, and we still knew that it might all suddenly become irrelevant during the time between the book going to print and you reading it.
