When I first started out in software development, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I thought all I had to do was to grow my knowledge and experience in the programming languages I was using to be the best coder I can be. Throughout my career, I have learned that what we do as software developers isn’t write code, but rather develop software to solve people’s problems. I think this is what differentiates what I have termed the modern, full stack team from a traditional programming team, and our role within that as developers.
