When she was interviewed for this article, Hannah Fairfield was the graphics director at The Washington Post, a position she held from 2010–2012. She is currently a senior graphics editor for The New York Times, where she worked for 10 years before moving to The Post. She has two master’s degrees from Columbia University and taught news graphics at the university’s Graduate School of Journalism for six years.
