Air handling unit (AHU)—This cools or heats outside air depending on the ambient temperature and the required internal air temperature¹⁰⁴.

Annex 1 country—A country which has a Kyoto obligation to reduce their CO₂ emissions.

Anthropogenic—‘Made by people or resulting from human activities. Usually used in the context of emissions that are produced as a result of human activities’¹⁰⁵.
