It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

POSING and DIRECTING the FACE
Posing a subject’s face involves a lot more than getting a good expression. What is your subject’s “good” side? How do you define their jawline or eliminate a double chin? How do you direct the subject to create a connection with the camera?
There are many things to take into account when posing the face. You should be considering the eyes, the nose, the shoulders, the neck, the chin, and more. When you first begin shooting, you may think a headshot is the easiest portrait to shoot—it’s just the head and shoulders, right?
