  1. Is humble leadership a new leadership style?

I am often asked how humble leadership fits in with existing leadership styles of which there are many. Let us take a closer look.

Research tends to sort leadership styles into three larger categories: Relational, task-related and change-related. A distinction is made between whether I as a leader focus more on people, things or the larger process.

Amongst relational leadership styles are:

  • Charismatic or visionary leadership that uses charm and persuasion to convince employees of ideas.
  • Laissez-Faire leadership which trusts employees and lets them more or less walk alone.
