When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
2 Safety and Health
Prop making is a dangerous occupation. Tools can cut, and machines can maim. Chemicals can irritate your skin, damage your brain, and even cause cancer.
A safety hazard causes immediate harm, such as falling off a ladder. A health hazard causes delayed, cumulative harm, such as inhaling toxic vapors. If you wish to continue to work in props throughout your life, you need to understand and minimize the safety and health hazards inherent in this occupation.
This book introduces proper safety practices. The specific chemicals and tools we use may require precautions which differ from general safety recommendations. There are simply too many materials and machines out there to describe the safe use ...
