As much as this book started out from the pages of my journal (cliché, I know) it was initially taking shape as a rant piece. I shrugged at it. While it wasn't the easiest thing for me to do to bare my scars publicly, I eventually got to a point where the writing healed me, and I started playing back memories in a different, brighter light. Despite my changed mindset, it's the people around me who got me here.
I want to thank my family, and a special dedication to my husband Jonathan, who told me writing isn't as scary as I thought it would be and it would finally be a relief to lift the burden of war stories I dared not share. I'm glad I did. Not only have I been more honest with the people around me, I'm more honest with myself about where my boundaries lie and what else I need to learn in this ever‐changing ecosystem. So, this is for you.
I also want to thank those who got me through my days in Revolut and Pollen, you know who you are.
A massive thank you to the founders at 11:FS who gave me a safe haven to learn to be a better leader and made me realize “building cultures” is the thing I'm meant to do. Especially David who always empowered this bruised HR person who could change it all by learning what not to do from my earlier mistakes. And Ross, who over the years sends me words of encouragement whenever I need them.
It's not a surprise to say I'm forever grateful for all the mighty women in FinTech (especially) who always supported, mentored, and generously ...
