Chapter 12. Sentry-Bot: An Intruder Detector
You can customize a robotic vehicle such as Inventor-Bot from Chapter 11 to do almost anything you want. In this chapter, you’ll add the ultrasonic sensor to Inventor-Bot and then use the sensor to enable Inventor-Bot to detect objects and avoid driving into them. You’ll also upgrade the robot by adding the remaining motor from the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 set. The extra motor will allow Inventor-Bot to perform an additional action: shooting a set of balls. By combining the Inventor-Bot design with an ultrasonic sensor and a motor, you’ll create Sentry-Bot (Figure 12-1).
