About the Authors
Rick Swope
As a veteran in the industry and primary education provider for E*TRADE, Rick has presented in hundreds of seminars across the United States and around the world. His expertise includes technical analysis, market strategy, and risk management.
Rick was the co-owner and managing partner of a trading firm that was one of the pioneers in online trading. He provided technical analysis, trading strategy, and software training to the firm's traders. Rick also traded a partnership account during that time, executing up to 300 trades per day. Rick worked closely with some of the early creators of the small order execution system (SOES), trading the so-called SOES bandits.
Rick has presented with some of the top financial exchanges, including the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and the Nasdaq OMX. Rick created the first market technical analysis consulting team for a financial firm with $1 trillion in client assets. He has extensive media experience, including a regional PBS weekly show, a national PBS pledge program, and numerous radio and television appearances. He is the principal author of the Amazon bestseller, Five Points for Trading Success (John Wiley & Sons, 2007).
