Multivariate analysis should be used on data with multiple response variables. I have termed the data as large as the data doesn’t necessarily have to fall into the category of “big data.”

For example, a data set with two nonindependent response variables could be analyzed using a multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) , which is a multivariate technique. However the data is not “big data.”
