THE BOOK: Best lookers rather than best sellers
Typewritten text and the narrative form have been intrinsically linked since Mark Twain delivered his first completely typed manuscript to his publisher in the late 1800s. From that point on, authors had their work typed up into manuscripts. Publishers would then pass these on to typesetters, who would cast off the manuscript in order to calculate the number of typeset pages needed for the book.
