Different markets have different trading processes. The New York
Stock Exchange (NYSE) has a trading floor where all the transac-
tions take place. There are twenty trading posts manned by a
specialist and specialist clerks. Orders are given direct to the specialist
(SuperDot system) or to brokers via telephone or the Broker Booth
Support System (BBSS) and all trading takes place around these
trading posts. The NYSE is a highly effective combination of face-to-
face dealing and technology.
