7 Layout und Styling
Das Aussehen einer Vaadin-Anwendung lässt sich den eigenen Wünschen entsprechend anpassen. Dazu bietet Vaadin einen sehr mächtigen Theme-Mechanismus, der auf Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) und der darauf aufsetzenden Spracherweiterung SCSS1 basiert. SCSS ist eine zu CSS3 kompatible Syntaxvariante von SASS2 und erweitert CSS um Variablen, Schachtelung von Selektoren, Mixins3, Funktionen und viele weitere nützliche Features.
In diesem Kapitel wird beschrieben, wie wir Themes in eigenen Anwendungen nutzen und eigene Themes auf Basis von CSS bzw. SCSS erstellen können.
