Jon B. Olansen received his B.S. degree in aerospace engineering and M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1987 and 1989, respectively. He spent several years serving as a mechanical systems flight controller in NASA’s Mission Control Center, supporting 32 Space Shuttle missions. He has received a number of commendations for his service, including NASA’s Public Service Medal, Space Flight Safety Award, and the Astronauts “Silver Snoopy” Personal Achievement Award.
