Visio comes with dozens of templates and thousands of shapes, and yet, you might yearn for other templates and stencils that better fit your requirements. Microsoft Office Online has become a rich source of templates and shapes, from both Microsoft and Visio users around the globe.

Even with all of the Microsoft Visio resources, for highly specialized diagrams, you often need to look elsewhere, for example, when you want a template for diagramming with Juniper Networks equipment or setting up a devilishly difficult dog agility course.

Many companies provide Visio templates and stencils that work with their products. For example, you can obtain Visio stencils for some equipment when you purchase it from the manufacturer. Other companies sell third-party templates for a variety of applications. This chapter shows you how to find the templates and stencils that Visio offers, as well as templates, stencils, and other solutions from third-party resources and web sites.
