Figure 15.1 shows the six vis systems analyzed in this chapter as full case studies. The Scagnostics system provides a scalable summary of large scatterplot matrices through a derived SPLOM based on classifying the geometric shapes formed by the point distributions in the original scatterplots [Wilkinson et al. 05, Wilkinson et al. 06].
