The elderly are often as much fun to photograph as children are. Guardians of their ways and culture, the elderly are often the last living windows into the way things once were and can provide unique opportunities that you might not find among the younger population. They tend to buck at the western trends creeping into most cultures, and that alone makes them interesting to photograph. Traditional clothes, a willingness to spend some time with you, and the years of character and story that they wear in the lines on their faces make the elderly ideal subjects when you’re looking to create images that capture the spirit of a place.
