Before you can even think about building themes and designing with WordPress, you have to lay the foundation. This chapter introduces you to the basic requirements that need to be in place before you can install WordPress on a Web server. I take you through the mechanics of registering a domain name, exploring Web hosting environments, and determining a plan for different WordPress projects in terms of bandwidth needs and hard drive space options.
