Part III
Working with WordPress Themes
In this part . . .
In this part of the book, you get down and dirty into the code and development of WordPress themes. I start with a run-through of theme basics that includes an exploration of the anatomy of a WordPress theme and an in-depth look into the default theme provided within every installation of the WordPress software — Twenty Ten.
This part continues by dissecting themes and template files, providing you with important information about template tags, parameters, and built-in features that you can use to liven up any Web site.
Keep in mind that this part does get a bit more technical, so be sure to get your geek on before turning the pages as I take you through a comprehensive look at page templates, custom post types, post formats, navigation menus, post thumbnails (or featured images), and post queries.
