About the Author

Eric J. McNulty connects dots across and between disciplines to reveal what it takes to navigate uncertainty and build teams and organizations that thrive. Leadership, community, stewardship, and resilience are topics Eric has spent years researching, documenting, and teaching, giving him deep expertise in leading through crisis and change. He offers distinct approaches to future-casting, strategy creation, negotiation, and human development.

Eric serves as associate director of the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative at Harvard University and is an instructor at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. He teaches crisis leadership, strategic leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution in graduate and executive programs. He received an excellence in teaching award for this work in 2026.

Eric has written more than 200 bylined articles for top publications such as Harvard Business Review. He is the author of The Power of Everyone: Leading Together to Shape a Better World (MIT Press, forthcoming). He is a coauthor of You’re It: Crisis, Change, and How to Lead When It Matters Most, now in its third edition.

Eric is a member of the Future Vision Committee at DRI International and an editorial advisory board member at Crisis Response Journal. He is a board member at Massachusetts for Elephants and a member of the Board of Councilors at Manomet Conservation Sciences.
