I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
9 Making More Makers
Throughout my experiences of both the re-skilling classes and the writing, I couldn’t help but feel a slight sense of guilt. It all felt a little too obvious. I kept imagining a conversation with my grandfather and telling him that I—at 27 years old—had come to the realization that I should start “making” things. That I wanted a career and life that were full of meaningful work that I could touch at the end of every day.
He would have been so confused. For him, that would have been a silly, naive statement. Everyone works with their hands; that was the way to make a living.
