Part IIDays 31–60
Performance goal: Understand and personify authentic leadership.
The complexities of twenty-first-century corporations demand new leadership. We need leaders who lead with purpose, values, and integrity and who are good stewards of the legacy they inherited from their predecessors. We need leaders who build enduring organizations, motivate their employees to provide superior customer service, and create long-term value for shareholders.
In short, we need a new kind of leader—the authentic leader—to bring us out of the current leadership crisis. My hope is that you will be inspired to become an authentic leader, committed to making the world better for all its citizens, and leading with your heart as well as your head.
The following table summarizes the goals you will pursue over the next 30 days. To keep yourself motivated, consider your personal goals and vision for success. What does authentic leadership mean to you?
