The focus of this book is the applications of system analysis and signal processing in acoustical sensing and imaging. The topical coverage of this book is the core component of a graduate-level course on imaging systems. This course has been part of the graduate curriculum in the signal processing area for many years. It was first established in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1985 and is currently offered in the University of California at Santa Barbara.
