Cyberwarfare Concepts
Abstract
Cyberwarfare is an overused term that is also poorly defined. Cyberwarfare is synonymous with information operations or Computer Network Operations (CNO), which is further broken down into Computer Network Defense (CND), Computer Network Exploitation (CNE), and Computer Network Attack (CNA). CND is security as we generally know it. It intends to provide confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
CNE is the process of gaining entry into a computer infrastructure to gather intelligence and is essentially cyberespionage. CNA is the process of damaging a computer infrastructure to achieve a military or a political goal. CNA is also the preparation of the cyber battlefield.
