Abstract

Three-dimensional (3D) textiles have been made attractive in the application of protective clothing due to the enhanced mechanical properties in the thickness direction of the fabrics in comparison to two-dimensional fabrics. This chapter describes various 3D woven structures and manufacturing techniques that have been investigated in developing such 3D woven structures.
