The application for the “blockchain” patent recounted in the previous chapter was filed on January 8, 2018. It was issued on October 9, 2018. That’s 25 months after I filed my first patent application on September 27, 2016. It’s proof that realizations have no timetable. In this instance, my realization was that I had developed tunnel vision. By this, I mean that I was focusing too narrowly on the concept of deep learning and software systems that would enable “prevention.”
But I had known that even a deep learning “early warning” system would never achieve perfection and that business enterprises would be sued. There would be litigation. It was inevitable.
