A function transformation consists of one or more changes in a function that doesn’t really change the initial structure. Oh, yes, a transformation can move the function values around, change the signs, flip, twist, turn, and stretch or flatten it, but you still recognize the original. Function transformations are very helpful in situations where you just want to raise the base rate or change the due date or create the opposite situation. There are applications all over the place.
