IN THIS CHAPTER
Expanding binomials in two different ways
Checking out formulas to use when graphing
Taking aim at geometric formulas
Solving a formula for a variable
Formulas are the basis of so many processes in business, agriculture, finance, and, of course, mathematics. A formula is an equation that always works. It’s something that has been proven to be reliable and helpful and usable. You have geometric formulas that tell you the area of a trapezoid or the volume of a cone. Financial formulas tell you how much your monthly mortgage payment will be. Temperature formulas help you know how to pack for that trip to a country that uses Centigrade measures. Formulas are useful, but you have to know how to use them not abuse them.
