Overview
This book is an introductory textbook in probability and statistical inference. No prior knowledge of either probability or statistics is required, although prior exposure to an elementary precalculus course would prove beneficial in the sense that the student would not see the basic concepts discussed here for the first time.
The mathematical prerequisite is a year of calculus and familiarity with the basic concepts and some results of linear algebra. Elementary differential and integral calculus will suffice for the majority of the book. In some parts, such as Chapters 4-6, the concept of a multiple integral is used.
