When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Quality of features
Every feature is created different from others. Consider the house pricing problem again. Let's look at some of the features of a house:
- House size
- Lot size
- Number of rooms
- Number of bathrooms
- Type of parking garage (carport versus covered)
- School district
- Number of dogs barking in the house
- Number of birds chirping in backyard trees
The last two features may look ridiculous to you, and you might wonder what that has got to do with the house price, and you are right. At the same time, if these features are given to the machine learning algorithm, it may come up with a non-zero correlation to your surprise. This is where domain knowledge comes into the picture.
