Foreword
Blockchain has emerged as one of the most transformative technologies of our time, promising a decentralized future where trust is rooted in code rather than institutions. Yet with this shift comes a sobering reality: decentralizing infrastructure does not decentralize risk. In fact, it often magnifies it, spreading vulnerabilities across complex stacks of smart contracts, wallets, oracles, bridges, and consensus mechanisms.
Having worked in cybersecurity across various sectors, I have seen how blockchain innovation often surpasses its security measures. Many dApps are created with good intentions but lack the necessary architectural principles for robust security against real-world threats.
This book was written to close that gap.
Blockchain Application Security offers a practical, risk-centric approach to defending blockchain ecosystems. It brings together my background in threat modeling, application security, and system architecture to help both developers and defenders think more strategically about the risks they face. From protocol vulnerabilities and DeFi exploits to attack simulations and layered defense, each chapter is grounded in both theory and hands-on relevance.
This book provides practical advice on securing blockchain applications. It includes understanding the technology, applying security-by-design principles, identifying blockchain-specific vulnerabilities, and designing for attack resilience through threat modeling. It also explains how to secure ...
