I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Microservice architecture versus SOA
SOA stands for service-oriented architecture. To remind you, in short, SOA can be defined by the following points:
- Services are autonomous
- Their boundaries are explicit
- Services share schemas and contracts (not class)
- Service compatibility is based on the policy
In SOA, several different services (smaller applications) can be combined to act as one single big application. This gives us the conclusion that by using SOA, we achieve modularity for our software. Services in SOA pass and parse messages by protocols that describe them.
