Part II: Landing Zones and Applications
The first part of this book established a conceptual foundation for Platform Engineering and introduced Fractal Architecture as a component-based approach to describing and governing infrastructure at scale. It focused on understanding the problem space, grounding the discussion in established software engineering principles, and defining a coherent architectural model.
This second and final part moves decisively into practice.
Here, Fractal Architecture is applied to real Infrastructure Domains. The abstract notion of components is translated into concrete building blocks. Cloud services are analyzed not as vendor-specific products, but as infrastructure capabilities with intrinsic properties, behaviors, ...
