Preface

We wrote this book to highlight the large opportunity that exists for Australian organisations to use new and powerful technologies, to transform their businesses to keep pace with or ahead of the leading edge of competitiveness. Of course, the other side of that coin is the threat of what will likely occur to laggards who are doing little or nothing about technology-enabled transformations when their competitors are.

We are not the first to reflect on this challenge, either locally or globally. We believe that a certain ‘conventional wisdom’ has developed about how Australian organisations should respond to the challenge.
