CHAPTER 3Quantitative Analysis

PYRAMID STEP 3 Analyze financial statement trends and benchmark against industry.
The goals of the quantitative analysis are threefold: First, to understand the historical performance trends of the subject company, which assists the analyst in forecasting or establishing the relevant benefit stream achievable by the subject company on an annual basis. Second, to benchmark the subject company against industry performance metrics over time to determine how well it is performing compared to its peer group. And third, to understand the reliability of the financial records provided and the process by which they were created.
Quantitative analysis should be performed in conjunction with the qualitative analysis discussed in Chapter 2.
