CHAPTER 13Conclusion or Calculated Value—Professional Standards

PYRAMID STEP 13 Ensure defensible conclusions align with professional standards.
After completing the analysis, the analyst estimates the value by carefully assessing, selecting, and applying the appropriate valuation methods, then reconciling the results. The outcome may be presented as either a conclusion of value or a calculated value, depending on the type of engagement. The analyst must also communicate the results—whether orally or in writing—with a clear explanation of the analysis performed. At this stage in the Valuation Process Pyramid, the analyst must apply the relevant professional standards based on the nature of the engagement. For valuation and calculation engagements, this includes the General and Ethical Standards, Development Standards, and Reporting Standards.
