What About Non-Conforming Browsers?
You can expect that visitors to your site use a variety of different browsers. Some of these browsers do not support CSS at all and totally ignore any styles that you set, but some imperfectly support CSS. Earlier, I characterized browsers that imperfectly support CSS1 as first-generation CSS-browsers, and characterized browsers that support most (at least 90 percent) of CSS1 as second-generation CSS-browsers.
