STAYING CONSISTENT AND PERSEVERING THROUGH SEASONS

Building a business is not easy. In fact, at times it can be incredibly difficult. Your dreams are so big, but you have no idea how you will possibly attain them and the road just seems so long. As business owners we go through all kinds of emotions. There are ups and there are downs, there are highs and there are lows. But I’m going to tell you this: trust the process. Staying focused and consistent and picking yourself back up when you fall are incredibly important on this journey.

I’ve yet to meet a business owner who said the journey has been completely smooth sailing. As a matter of fact, it’s usually the opposite. But despite how challenging building a business can be, there is value in persevering through all the various seasons, keeping your goals front and center, and not giving up.

In the first year of starting Clever Girl Finance, I made $200. Yup, you read that right, $200. This after coming off a side hustle that had made me almost $70,000 in one year. I was seeing people start businesses and within a few months they were making six figures and quitting their jobs. What the heck was I doing telling women to be clever about their finances?!

But instead of giving up (even though I wanted to a thousand times), I stayed firm in my belief of my vision and in my mission to help women succeed. And so, I continued to put in the work ...
