So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Guiding the eye with color. It sounds forceful, directive, and authoritative. Break it down—guiding the eye—and it sounds like a term we in the photography world are sometimes hesitant to use: manipulation. But that is what we do. We manipulate the direction that a viewer’s eyes go in our images. We suggest to them where they should look, what content is important, and in some cases, how to get out of the photograph.
