To a great degree, we photographers are in control of color. We choose when to shoot and what light is used to influence the color of our landscapes; we select certain colors that would entice a viewer of the advertisement we’re shooting; we choose whether or not to include a bright, distractingly colorful object in our feature images since it potentially takes away from our primary subject; and we even determine the meaning conveyed by color by conjoining it with an image’s content.
